Tips for finding a job in Australia 💼

One of the motivating factors for many international students to come to Australia is the fantastic possibility to work and study simultaneously. Here are some tips for the job search if your English skills are still improving.

Tips when preparing your CV / Curriculum Vitae:

Job interview, Entrevista de trabajo, trabajo en Australia
  • You do not need a photo or mention your home country.

  • Write it in perfect English. If you are a BWonder student, we will review your CV before you start applying. Send it to us!

  • Your CV must be oriented to the position you want to apply for. For example, suppose you are a singer in your home country. In that case, there is no point in mentioning it if you are applying for a product packaging position.

  • Only one page for NON-professional positions

Tips when applying for a job in Australia:

Job interview, Entrevista de trabajo, trabajo en Australia
  • Take the risk of bringing your CV and handing it in personally. Not all companies list their job vacancies on the Internet. Many small places only post an advertisement on their premises.

  • Practice and prepare well in English before you hand in your CV. You may be interviewed or asked to stay for a trial. In other words, be ready.

  • Remember to be friendly, smile and have an attitude that shows the employer you are willing to work.

  • Walk around your area to find a job. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️Check the map near where you live or study and plan your walk to hand in your CV (don't go at peak times, as you won't be noticed) .

Facebook 📱:

If your level of English still needs to be conversational, we recommend you follow the Facebook groups. Choose the group of the city where you want to go. In these groups, you can find job offers posted by people in the job market. However, beware of cyber scams, not all posted offers are genuine. Do not give out your details or send money; your TFN should only be shared with your employer. These are some of the groups for the Spanish speaker community:
