Whether or not to apply for the Covid visa. 🤔

Crucial information before applying: ⚠️


1. ✈️ DHA requests you to be a genuine temporary applicant. According to the information on their website, they state that:

· You cannot use their temporary visa program to maintain your permanent residence in Australia.

· The Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) requirement helps them ensure you use temporary visas correctly.

· DHA must be satisfied that you intend to stay in Australia temporarily.


They also advise that, when assessing your application, they will consider ✔️

§ Your status

§ Your immigration history

§ Your compliance with the visa conditions

§ Any other relevant issues


2.👌🏼You must be employed or have an offer of employment. Being an employee means that your payments are made by TFN (Tax File Number). Your employer pays your salary or wages every week or fortnight, usually paid directly into your bank account.

8107 visa condition - information for visa holders

Due to the need for workers in Australia, DHA has temporarily implemented a less restrictive policy on visa condition 8107 - work limitation for COVID-19 visa holders (and applicants) for pandemic events, which allows them to work without restrictions.

This means you can change jobs and work for more than one employer, including self-employment, i.e. you can work with ABN.



4.💰You must show enough money to support yourself and your dependents in Australia.


5.👨🏽‍⚕️ You must have the appropriate health insurance for this visa, which is different from international student health insurance.


6.👁️ You may not be eligible for this visa if you have had a visa cancelled or refused during your stay in Australia.


After you apply:


💪🏿Once approved, DHA can give you up to 12 months visa if you are working or have a job offer to work in any sector of the economy.

👁️ DHA will grant you this visa on the condition that you must continue to work while you have this visa. If you do not have a job, you must find one or take steps to leave Australia.
